Today we are talking shoes!
Specifically career shoes. Being close to 5'1'' I love my high heels...especially in the office... the few inches really helps me feel like everyone is not looking down at me. So about 18 months ago I started my job in SW DC, where I commute by train and walk about 2-3 blocks to and from the office. FIrst day I wore pointy-toed-high-heeled shoes... and I didn't think I was going to make it back to my car, because my feet hurt soooooo bad. Needless to say my highest heels went to the back of my closet... and I started wearing lower heels and flats, because I refuse to do the tennis shoe with professional attire thing.
Well this past weekend I had a brilliant idea -- I would buy cheap ballet flats at DSW in a variety of colors ( I already had white, so I got black and grey) and take my heels in my huge purse and change at the office.
I only wish I had thought of it sooner!
But... Monday I discovered the brown flats I bought last year... had two holes in the heel (see picture). I couldn't believe it... these shoes aren't even a year old! So now I have to buy another pair of brown flats .
