I have been wanting one for years....the stars finally aligned this weekend. A coupon from Pier 1, my mother's SUV, and my sister to help carry :D

yay!

To the 10Club... My love/hate relationship with them continues :) But I am so Happy I got tickets to Pearl Jam's 10/30 show at the Spectrum in Philly!!!!!

NextBus has been active for about 2 full weeks.... and I have been loving it!

Especially in the mornings. I have about a 60 second walk from my house to the bus stop...so as long as the bus is more than 5 minutes away I can usually make it. Usually I get ready for work then head downstairs to load up my bus stop #. The Next Bus is usually about 10-15 minutes away when I do this so I can feed Madison if needed, take my vitamin, etc....

Yesterday I overslept by about 20 minutes.... so I did my normal routine, then checked by bus...5 minutes away... YAY! I didn't miss it. So I packed up my bag and headed out, caught the bus and arrived at work at my usual time :)

There have been some hiccups (like sometimes it says the Next Bus is 40 minutes away, but really the bus you were hoping to catch hasn't come yet... which means its decision time because I can walk to the Metrorail stop in about 20 minutes....)

But overall I give it an A-

That is what I am writing a lot of on mail that is being delivered to my house. For not 2 previous owners but 3! And its not just junk mail. In the past two weeks I have received one person's Social Security Statement, and a hand-written note to another....

I guess this is what happens in a 68 year old house... but man it is annoying, especially since I do not have my own mailbox that I can just dump them back into! ( I have a mail slot in my front door ... so cute!)

aka.... how I made out with my list of what I wanted in a new house....



1) Location - Totally made out with this. Orange line stop is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride :D

2) Central AC - its a must! Check!

3) Up-to-Date fuse box, plumbing, windows, and roof - these are leaning very heavy on the must have side :-) Fuse and roof are all updated. Windows are original... and will be replaced by me. Plumbing... seems in good condition.

3) No Upstairs neighbors - Must have! Check!

4)Do not share property-lines with renters - it's a must! Check!

5) Gas cooking - Must! Check!

6) Fireplace - Nice to have Got one :D

7) 1.5 baths - Must Check!

8) 2 bedrooms - Must Check! (there are 3!)

9)Garage - Nice to have Got one!

10) Pre-assigned parking - Nice to have... but almost Must ;) Check! if you count my driveway!

11) Lots of closet space - including walk-in master... linen closet, and kitchen pantry. Upstairs has lots of closet space, no kitchen pantry though :(

12) No neighbors that leave dogs out to bark all day (thanks mom!) Check!

13) House is not on a road with a double yellow-line I am on a road with a double yellow line, but its one lane each way, and there are speed humps.

14) No heat pump - must have Check!

Dear Potluck Bitch...

I recently referred a former co-worker to my compnay for a job openeing that we have... and they have offered him the job... so I get a nice referral bonus :) Now I need to decide what to do with it! I have wanted to get a Wii for a while (no not so I can play Pearl Jam RockBand... I am plain bad enough on regular Rockband when I play at a friends' house -- though it is fun)...

Then there is the obvious shoes or new handbag (or some combo of both). And the boring option that my mom will vote for ... Save It!

So.....

I watched it via CNN... and I thought it was very tasteful (for the large scale... and gold coffin aside.)

Some say all the coverage is overboard, but I think this may have helped give a lot of people closure and accept that he really is dead.
