Twitter + Cupcakes = Curbside Cupcakes!

I work in SW DC.... and there is basically nothing around... aside from the standard McDonalds, Starbucks, Potbelly, and Quiznos. Lunch is painful (well it would be if my Agency didn't have such an Awesome cafeteria!).... Happy Hour is sad.... Luckily there are awesome places 1 stop away @ Capitol South.... and don't get me started on all the Cupcake and Yogurt places up near GalleryPlace....

So imagine my delight a few weeks ago when one of the people I follow on Twitter re-tweeted a post from @CurbsideCupcake! They were coming to SW! But I was out of the office that day :(

But a week later... They were back! And I got my cupcake! And it was awesome!

Now I troll my twitterfeed looking for the Cupcake location ....

Note - There is also a mobile Yogurt truck - but it rarely comes to SW... I caught them once in L'enfant... and coming soon... a Pizza Truck!

I've bought a domain name and will be re-branding... to Make Lemons...

Origin of the phrase.......

Many years ago when R, A, and I all worked together...we went to get yogurt at TCBY...
and were riding back to the office. We were talking about something... (it may have been lack of sprinkles on the yogurt!).... and I shouted out Make Lemons!! When I meant Make Lemonade... :)

Last night I finally got around to hooking up my Wii Fit. My plan is to get back to running every other day (at least during the week).... and do Yoga/Strength Training/Aerobics via the Wii on the other days.

So before you start the activities, Wii takes you through a setup where it measures BMI, Wii-Age, and Weight... along with Balance.

Imagine my surprise when this message popped up....

Because I trip all over the place, including falling down stairs!! (I think part of the problem was I wasn't used to the Balance Board... and I am generally bad at video games anyway.... but it was still amusing!)

Anyway...Tracking progress

Day 1:

BMI - For me only :P

Wii age - 59 :/

Weight - For me only ... but I will say... it was not as bad as I thought it would be.

Here's the part that WMATA could learn from... the Starbucks website lets you manage your account online... You can add multiple cards, setup auto-reload where you can reload based on a date or when your balance hits a certain amount. You can transfer balances between cards (ie if you ever lost a card.... just transfer to another card that you have).

If you have ever registered your SmarTrip card with WMATA it appears to go into this big abyss.....where you can't search on it or pull it up again.

Maybe WMATA and Starbucks could go into business together?? I see enough people drinking coffee on the Metro in the AM anyway.... pay for commuting and coffee with the same card!!

Nope.... But Madison did have an unplanned visit to the vet....Severe Allergic reaction to flea saliva :(

only 1... I called them to get the gun I found in my basement! (Turned out to be a BB gun :P)

Cumberland, Maryland and Philadelphia.....

What did you purchase that was over $500?
My house :)

Did you know anybody who got married?
Yes.... a cousin.

Did you know anybody who passed away?
No.

Did you move anywhere?
Yes... I sold my condo, and bought a house just outside of DC :D

None... wow..... Baseball in 2010 ....

Describe your birthday.
Happy hour on the actual day; Prior to the actual day my girlfriends and I did a girls weekend to celebrate all of our birthdays... we went to Rocky Gap Resort in Western MD for 2 day... 1 day at Spa and 1 day White Water Rafting. The weekend after the actual day I went to Brunch @ Matchbox - Capitol Hill with my mom!!

What's the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2009?
Hmmmm. I guess taking the bus to the Metro. (I used to be very anti-bus but its really not bad!) Oh.. and I caught a bat.... IN MY HOUSE!!!

What has been your favorite moment(s)?
2009 was awesome! Lily Allen @ 930 Club, Pearl Jam in Philly, everytime I am at Matcbox or Bullfeathers, Closing on my house was awesome (I almost cried I was so happy). Potluck Bitch getting fired! Girls Weekend @ Rocky Gap.

What's something you learned about yourself?
I am awesome :)

No.

May - Thats when I moved!

Overall, how would you rate this year?
8– It was a truly awesome year. I sold my condo relatively easily, the short sale that I bought dragged on but I did get it in the end; Work became a happy place again after the end of Potluck Bitch; I go out a lot more for two reasons... closer to DC and having friends that live within a 2 minute drive :)

What would you change about 2009?
Nothing… I believe everything happens for a reason…

Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
DC!!!!

Have any life changes in 2009?
None, unless you count moving to a new house

Yes… longer in the front, shorter in the back.... (is this a reverse mullet!)

Well I have the same full-time gig..... but I picked up a freelance side job as a Social Media Consultant ;)

35. Halfway to 70... Woohoo!!!

Nope…. I never do well with those….

Lets just say.... Patron is not my friend :)

Interesting.... At least this article from Billboard confirms Pearl Jam will be touring in the Spring and Summer :P
